Button Tree Canvas

Create this whimsical button tree art in a few easy steps.
What You'll Need:
- Crafter's Closet 11" x 14" Canvas
- Crafter's Closet Tacky Glue
- Crafter's Closet Paint Brush
- Crafter's Closet Paint Mixing Palette
- Crafter's Closet Acrylic Paint Set
- Crafter's Closet Assorted Buttons
- Crafter's Closet White Puffy Paint
- Clear Gems
Let's Do This!
Step 1:
- Mix together green, blue, and white paint to achieve a light aqua color. Paint entire canvas, including the edges. Let dry.
Step 2:
- Download and print the tree template. Flip the paper over and with a heavy hand rub a pencil over the back of the tree. Flip paper back to the proper side and position on the canvas. Making a few passes, trace the outline of the tree with a pencil. When you remove the paper, a copy will be transferred to your canvas!
Step 3:
- Mix together red, yellow, and black paint to get a brown. Paint the tree brown, adding additional swirls if desired. Be sure to switch to the smaller brush to get crisp swirls.
Step 4:
- Using red, yellow, and white buttons; scatter them on top of the swirls and glue in place. Decorate with gems.
Step 5:
- Take the white puffy paint and add some leaf shapes and dots along some of the buttons and branches.
